Summary: | In its first-ever sponsored U.N. draft resolution, submitted last October, Israel chose to ask the international community to formally remember the sins of the Nazis. As the U.N. dawdles in its obligations to stop the sordid array of current crimes against humanity being committed around the globe, this Jewish contribution to the international community's consciousness is undoubtedly fitting. But fervently participating in the fight against degradation and destruction of a people or a group, in body or in spirit - in Darfur, along the trafficking routes of Eastern Europe or in the brothels in Tel Aviv - must be Israel's own legacy of justice. |
