Summary: | My neighbor holding forth downstairs in his backyard about Israel's war on the Hizballah in Lebanon - how it was impossible to completely quell the guerrilla force, how Hassan Nasrallah, its leader, was wily and sophisticated - was utterly convinced of his wisdom. I couldn't quite make out the nuances of his proposed strategy, but his conviction was unmistakable. Quite like that of the Israeli government days into its campaign on two fronts to root out the Islamic terrorists along Israel's borders with Lebanon and with Gaza. Neither, however, was convincing enough as the Katyushas continued to fly across the North and the Qassams the South, even as Israel's vastly superior weaponry rained down on targets from Beirut to Gaza City. |
