Summary: | As Jessica Steinberg details in the cover story of this issue, the Wiesenthal Center is clearly less flummoxed by either the ghosts of Muslims past, or by Muslim plaintiffs present, as it recently headed back to court to defend its right to build its museum on the site of some of those ancient graves. Armed with city permits and defying the sensibilities of aggrieved Muslim families backed by a politically charged, even exploitative, Islamic Movement, the Center's Rabbi Marvin Hier is determined to teach the city that is holy to three great religions the same spirit of acceptance that he's imparting to the schoolchildren of the ethnically explosive city of angels. |
