Summary: | Disillusioned with the humdrum of nine-to-five, online gift shop Needapresent.com was set up at the height of the dotcom boom - and survived thanks to its strong partnership. Jason Hick and Martin Gerhard have worked together for over four years but have known each other for more than 10. They had never worked with a friend before, but were confident that they could make it work. Gerhard is more of a planner and an organiser, whereas Hick tends to be more chaotic and flexible. Gerhard worked in local radio as a reporter in the north of England before moving to London to work at Radio 5 Live as a producer. He has also worked as a PR consultant to a firm of solicitors. They designed, built and marketed their website without having to use outside organisations. |
