Summary:Nineteen eels ( Anguilla rostrata ), collected from the Suwannee River estuary in Florida, were examined for Vibrio cholerae . Nonagglutinable V. cholerae were isolated from 11 of the eels for an isolation rate of 58%. Isolates from 6 of the eels were confirmed by the Smith serotyping system and found to be types 17, 68 and 175.
