"Today's action underscores our resolve to maintain pressure on Russia for violating international law and fueling the conflict in eastern Ukraine," John E. Smith, acting director of the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control, said in a 30 July press release. According to the 2011 census, Poles make up 6.6 percent of the population, Russians 5.8 percent , Belarusians 1.2 percent and Ukrainians 0.5 percent. |
