Electrodeposition on a moving wire in an overflow cell

The effect of sweep rate of cathodic potential, wire speed, superimposed fluid flow rate, temperature and concentration of CuSO 4 solutions with large excess of H 2SO 4 was studied on 0·51 mm diameter horizontal copper wire. The limiting current density, I L was found to increase with wire speed. W...

Description
Summary:The effect of sweep rate of cathodic potential, wire speed, superimposed fluid flow rate, temperature and concentration of CuSO 4 solutions with large excess of H 2SO 4 was studied on 0·51 mm diameter horizontal copper wire. The limiting current density, I L was found to increase with wire speed. W and I LL is proportional to W 0·42 up to 2·5 m/s and to W 0·90 up to 40 m/s in the absence of additional fluid flow. I L increased with increasing fluid flow rate especially at low wire speeds (
