Summary: | Impact 2000 is a truly innovative, next-generation approach to what some people still call safety auditing. The system - developed by the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) of Alberta - rejects the traditional checklist or inspection approach to audits. Rather, it is designed as a decision-making tool for use by qualified health and safety consultants. A major underpinning of Impact 2000's philosophy is that the entire program focuses on injury reduction within the Work Injury Reduction Program. At the WCB, injury reduction is seen as a decrease in both the number and severity of workplace injuries. The final professional technical report written for the client includes: 1. an executive summary, 2. a brief description of the consultant's activities in performing the evaluation, 3. a scoring overview, and 4. major recommendations selected from both systems and details recommendations that are most appropriate for the client. |
