Description
Summary:Recent developments in the field of chemical data assimilation have led to a variational analysis where the results are generally used as the initial condition for forecasting. Such analysis method is able to adjust other model parameters like emissions which are not available with conventional techniques. Using a simplified one-dimensional urban chemistry transport model, this paper presents the identification of the ground flux pollutants with data assimilation twin experiments. It also describes the initial effort in the understanding of the influence of each observed species on the quality of a two-dimensional variational analysis system
