Description
Summary:The device described in this paper is novel in that it can dissolve oxygen or other gases in water using little or no power. The contact time between the gas and the liquid is variable and can be controlled by the operator so the contactor can hold a dangerous or expensive gas for an infinite amount of time. The device is easy to construct and maintain and overall should be suitable for many commercial applications. 1 Introduction Wastewater is made up of industrial and domestic waste. This initial primary liquid waste is treated by mechanical separation such as screening, flotation or sedimentation We are then left with a secondary liquid and sludge. The secondary liquid can be treated chemically by such methods as ionisation; combined ozone and ultraviolet; combined hydrogen peroxide and ultraviolet
