Strain-Hardening Extrusion. Pt. 2. Analysis of Slip-Line Fields Based on Experimental Flow Patterns

See preceding abstract. The velocity solution is computed, and from it are constructed a set of streamlines for comparison with the original flow pattern. Total strain is computed by integrating along the streamlines and graduating and adjusting to meet boundary conditions. The strain field is estim...

Description
Summary:See preceding abstract. The velocity solution is computed, and from it are constructed a set of streamlines for comparison with the original flow pattern. Total strain is computed by integrating along the streamlines and graduating and adjusting to meet boundary conditions. The strain field is estimated and checked for consistency. The forces on the boundary of the plastic region and their resultant are then computed. Stress--strain curves for the annealed 5083 and 5086 considered in Part 1, and computed grids, are shown. 8 ref.--EAA/AF.
