Description
Summary:The problem of growing high perfection crystals of dilute binary alloys with very low stacking fault energy has been considered. Silver being chosen as the solvent, the choice of the solute is discussed. Ag-Sn crystals with increasing atomic concentrations of Sn from 0 to 6% have been grown. They exhibit a progressive improvement of perfection up to a concentration of about 3% than a loss of quality for the highest concentrations.
