Summary: | The use of computers to generate graphic representations of numerical values obtained in calculations of the propagation and scattering of electromagnetic waves transmitted from antennas is explored. Numerical modelling permits obtaining solutions for the propgation and scattering in terms of a discretized domain, subtended by space and time, and involving a large number of values simultaneously. Consideration is focused on a radiating source in an infinite medium, with the transmitted signal encountering diffraction, reflection, and obstacles. Graphic representation then consists of displaying the directions and velocities of propagation. Examples are provided for the propagation of electromagnetic waves and of elastic waves. |
