Summary: | Previously abstracted from original as item 8311-6.1-0535Y. The maximum tensile strength of extruded semifabricated components of AK4-1ch Al alloy after aging heat treatment varies with grain size. Coarse-grain components have a tensile strength that is 10-20 MPa lower than fine-grain components. However, fatigue life in rotating bending was independent of grain size. The fracture toughness KIc of coarser grain material was higher than that of finer grain material due to the increase in plastic deformation of the coarser grain volume during metallurgical processing. 14 ref.--X-ref. |
