Summary:As the number of devotees grew, house meetings became impractical. A dedicated devotee of Pujya Bapa, Shree Shantilal Rughnatha Thakkar, organized -- with the assistance of the Gheewala family and other devotees -- the purchase of a small property at Mere Road, Leicester in 1979. That too was outgrown. In 1989, again relying on the generosity of devotees plus some loan financing, Mr. [Shantilal Thakkar] acquired and refurbished a larger property on Narborough Road where the present temple is being built.
