Rotation properties of the high-numbered asteroids 1236 Thais and 1317 Silvretta

Photoelectric UBV observations of the high-numbered asteroids 1236 Thais and 1317 Silvretta yield a rotation period for the latter of 7.048 hours and a lightcurve amplitude of 0.40. In the case of 1236 Thais, an increase in brightness over the course of 72 hours was detected, indicating that this ob...

Description
Summary:Photoelectric UBV observations of the high-numbered asteroids 1236 Thais and 1317 Silvretta yield a rotation period for the latter of 7.048 hours and a lightcurve amplitude of 0.40. In the case of 1236 Thais, an increase in brightness over the course of 72 hours was detected, indicating that this object may be a slowly spinning asteroid with a very long rotation period.
