Summary:The Army requirements for video transmission can be divided into two broad categories: (1) imagery transmission calling for the communication of individual pictures, (2) video transmission requiring the communication of motion in the scene. Typical Army applications of imagery transmission are the transmission of snapshots from a forward observer or a UAV and secondary image transmission (SIT) between command centers. Typical Army applications for motion video include the remote driving of robots and teleconferencing between command posts.< >
