Description
Summary:The number and location of equilibrium points is investigated in the planar magnetic-binary problem by considering the effect of the parameters which exactly determine the model of such a system. The equations of planar motion are derived in a synodic coordinate system, along with the equations giving the equilibrium points of the system. The number and location of equilibrium points which depend on the directional cosines of each of magnetic moments with respect to the rotating coordinate system, the ratio of their measurements, and the reduced mass of the primaries are determined.
