Summary:Addition of nickel has beneficial effects on the mechanical properties of iron-cobalt alloys. The paper reports the results of electron microscopy study on these alloys, relates the observed microstructure to the magnetic and mechanical properties and shows the beneficial effect of nickel to be caused by increased γ precipitation.
