Summary:Glass reinforced PBT's such as Celanex PBT are used widely throughout the electrical, electronic, telecommunications, automotive and appliance industries. Key factors in the marked growth of the material include the balance of material properties, easy flow, rapid processing and design flexibility. This article also looks at design considerations such as mould shrinkage, warpage in moulded parts, wall thicknesses and integral threads. Several commercial applications are reviewed.
