Summary: | Mercury porosimetry studies of hardened cement pastes of Portland cement and blast furnace slag blended cements have been conducted after freeze drying cured samples. The samples have been aged after freeze drying in a desiccating atmosphere so as to evaluate the effect of aging on the pore structure of freeze dried hardened Portland cement paste prepared with and without admixtures. Results indicate that after 24 hours of freeze drying the hardened paste shows negligible change in porosity and pore structure with aging in a desiccating atmosphere. |
