Work function measurements on ion bombardment damaged (111) surface of silver by photoelectric and CPD methods
Silver (111) surfaces damaged by argon ion bombardment showed a photoelectric work function higher that measured by the CPD method. This observation is explained as being due to the effect of the surface defects on the surface potential barrier and hence on the photothreshold.--AA
