Summary: | Electron-probe microanalysis was used to determine the titanium concentration at the center and at the periphery of dendrite cells of aluminum solid solution, in excess intermetallic Al-Mg-Cu-Zn alloys, and also in castings of AMg6, D1, V95, and AL19 alloys. The presence of titanium in the complex alloys studied may accelerate aluminum solid solution decomposition for the main alloying elements and transition metals during heat treatment. A direct relationship was observed between the average and maximum content of titanium in the enriched zones of different cells and the titanium content of the melt. |
