Description
Summary:The vibration phenomena of a parametrically excited self-excitation system with dry friction are studied in detail using as a model self-excitation idealized by Coulomb's friction, nonlinear resistance of the Van der Pol type, and Mathieu-type idealized parametric excitation. Steady and accurate solutions in the regions of first and second order parametric resonance are obtained along with solutions outside the first-order regions. An approximate solution outside the second order region of parametric resonance is obtained and the validity of the approximation method is investigated in detail. An approximate solution in the neighborhood of first-order parametric resonance is obtained, and it is shown that the intersection of this solution and a resonance curve give the boundaries of disappearance and the occurrence of a beat. The determination of these boundaries is numerically considered, and the interaction between parametric excitation and self-excited vibration is discussed.
