Summary: | The dependence of the critical current density in a V sub 3 Si high field superconductor on the concentration of weakly interacting defects--induced by fast neutron irradiation--is investigated. The observed low pinning mechanism is accompanied by a quadratic increase with defect concentration whereas in the strong pinning area the influence of the defects decreases continuously. The critical current density due to the addition of two different defect structures is explained by these results and compared with the field dependent enhancement of the current in neutron irradiated Nb sub 3 Sn wires. 6 ref.--AA |
