Platelets are crucial in the pathophysiology of coronary artery disease and are a major target of antithrombotic agents in patients receiving percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). We sought to evaluate the incidence and prognostic impact of thrombocytopenia on clinical outcomes in patients undergoing PCI with drug-eluting stents (DES). We evaluated consecutive patients who received PCI with DES in the IRIS-DES registry between April 2008 and December 2017. Patients were divided into 2 groups based on the presence of thrombocytopenia (platelet count |
