Summary: | Key Points
Patients with classical and paradoxical low‐flow (PLF) aortic stenosis (AS) experience similar improvements in 30‐day quality of life (QoL) following transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) as compared to those with normal flow AS.
Particular care should be taken in post‐TAVR management of patients with PLF AS due to a higher rate of rehospitalization for heart failure.
Promoting larger studies with follow‐up strategies that take into account the initial echocardiographic AS phenotype may help in further improving post‐TAVR QoL and outcomes. |
