Summary: | Spectral observations with reciprocal dispersion 4.2 A/mm are used to analyze the chemical composition of the atmosphere of the star Theta Vir (HD 114330, HR 4963) by means of model atmospheres. A model with parameters T(eff) = 9500 K and log g = 3.6 is chosen. The microturbulence velocity is found to be 1.5 km/sec. An enhanced abundance of the heavy elements Sr, Y, Zr, and Ba is established, making Theta Vir one of the hot Am stars, but with normal Ca and Sc abundances. In addition, Ti and V have enhanced abundances. (Author) |
