Summary: | Salusin-β is a newly defined biomarker that plays a role in atherogenesis and in homeostasis. The study aimed to assess serum salusin-β level in relation to atherosclerosis and ventricular dysfunction in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients.
Sixty T2DM patients and twenty-five age-matched healthy controls were included. Serum salusin-β was determined by ELISA. Echocardiography and carotid ultrasonography were carried out for all individuals.
