Description
Summary:Riemann S ellipsoids are generalized to allow for the gravitational effect of a spheroidal halo, and sequences of embedded ellipsoids are systematized in accordance with the halo's properties. The presence of even a weak halo guarantees the equilibrium of a new branch of triaxial ellipsoids which are strongly oblate along the rotational axis and are characterized by internal circulation of the fluid in the direction of their rotation. Only when the fluid circulates in the direction opposite to that of rotation is an ellipsoidal shape of the light subsystem possible. Otherwise, light-subsystem equilibrium is possible only in the form of hyperboloidal figures with one and two cavities whose sequences begin with the corresponding dynamically stable biaxial figures.
