Description
Summary:The authors have Investigated the behavior of the frozen-in anisotropy of an XY spin glass under the influence of a reorienting field. From experiments performed using a cylindrically shaped single crystal of YTb sub(3at.%), they find that the anisotropy can be rotated as a whole away from its original direction by rotating the crystal in an external field H sub(RO). The anisotropy direction lags behind H sub(RO), suggesting behavior analogous to sliding friction.
