Summary: | By using a new procedure for introducing hydrogen into steel at 1000°C, the effect of hydrogen on the austenite to martensite transformation in a ball-bearing steel was examined. It was found that hydrogen had no significant effect on the austenite to martensite transformation. The results of previous investigators have been discussed in the light of the present work. |
