Summary: | The experimental Compton profile of polycrystalline tungsten is presented. The measurements have been made by scattering 59.54 keV gamma -rays and are compared with the band-structure calculation of Papanicolaou et al . These results have also been compared with the calculation based on the renormalized-free-atom model with different 5d--6s configurations. Best agreement with experiment is found for the 5d exp 5.4 6s exp 0.6 electron configuration. Graphs. 35 ref.--AA |
