Frequency locking a single‐mode TEA CO2 laser

The frequency of a single‐mode TEA CO2 laser has been locked on a CF4 absorption feature. Because of the very low repetition rate use has been made of a computer to control the cavity length of the TEA CO2 laser. A stability of about ±5 MHz during long periods could be achieved with this method.
