Summary: | The electrochemical nucleation of copper on palladium has been investigated by applying the potential step technique. The nucleation process was found to be progressive and interpretation of current-time transients over a wide overpotential interval made it possible to determine the overpotential dependence of the steady state nucleation rate, the size of the critical nucleus and the work of nucleation. |
