Summary: | A striking correlation is reported in the electrical transport behavior of very high-quality (j sub c approx 3.4 x 10 exp 6 A/cm exp 2 at T = 77K) epitaxial thin films of high-T sub c Y--Ba--Cu--O in the normal state. With increasing superconducting performance, as characterized by the transition temperature, transition-temperature width, and critical current density, the resistivity rho , and the Hall coefficient R sub H , both assume remarkably simple temperature dependences rho = alpha T and R exp --1 sub H = beta T leading to a Hall mobility mu sub H proportional to T exp --2 . The magnetoresistance at 10 T is < | Delta rho / rho | < 10 exp --3 . An extreme two-carrier model is used to assess the T dependence of R sub H . 26 ref.--AA |
