New ternary transuranium compounds: Chalcogenide halides

Consistent with the scarcity of transuranium elements, we developed a microscale preparation of some previously unknown ternary actinide (An) chalcogenide halides. We prepared americium sulfide iodide 243AmSI and isolated two other phases with 242Pu and 243Am in the ternary system An-S-I.
