A note on Einstein-Maxwell solutions and vacuum to electrovac solutions transforms
The Letelier-Bezerra (1986) method for obtaining Einstein-Maxwell (E-M) solitons in the cylindrical nonstationary case is shown to be equivalent to the Belinskii-Zakharov (1978, 1979) construction for the vacuum case followed by a vacuum-to-electrovac Kinnersley (1974) transform. A method for obtain...

Summary: | The Letelier-Bezerra (1986) method for obtaining Einstein-Maxwell (E-M) solitons in the cylindrical nonstationary case is shown to be equivalent to the Belinskii-Zakharov (1978, 1979) construction for the vacuum case followed by a vacuum-to-electrovac Kinnersley (1974) transform. A method for obtaining E-M solitons in the static case is also examined. It is demonstrated that direct prescriptions for constructing E-M solitons do not lead to intrinsically new solutions.
