Description
Summary:Previously abstracted from original as item 9112-C2-P-0713. Results of an experimental study of kinetics of the accumulation of structural changes in unfilled by carbon black SLI-3-based rubber are presented. Rubber films (strongly absorbing, diffusely scattering substance) with thickness 0.11 plus/minus 0.005 mm, were chosen as samples. The light transmission and scatter were measured at two wavelengths: 620 and 927 nm. Deformation was realized by biaxial homogeneous tension, mechanical fatigue--by cyclic uniaxial tension, thermal and radiation ageing--in air. The conclusion is made that optical methods may be used for the investigation of kinetics of mechanical fatigue, thermal and radiation ageing in unfilled by carbon black rubbers. It is shown that the sensitivity of measurements can be raised by a rational choice of the light wavelength and preliminary biaxial extension.
