Discrete molecular structures in glassy P#x#3Se#71#7d#x#3 [observed] by Raman spectroscopy

Raman spectra of P#72Se, P#73Se, P#74Se, and P#70#7f#73#74Se#70#7f#71#76 show the existence in each glass of well-defined P#74Se#73 cage molecules. All nine Raman-active internal modes of this molecule are observed, and their intensity decreases as P content increases. These materials behave as a ma...

Description
Summary:Raman spectra of P#72Se, P#73Se, P#74Se, and P#70#7f#73#74Se#70#7f#71#76 show the existence in each glass of well-defined P#74Se#73 cage molecules. All nine Raman-active internal modes of this molecule are observed, and their intensity decreases as P content increases. These materials behave as a matrix-supported assembly of P#74Se#73 molecules.
