Summary: | BaRuO sub(3) and Ba sub(1-x)K sub(x)RuO sub(3) ceramics contain a mixture of 4H and 9R polytypes whose volume fraction depends on quenching temperature and the concentration of potassium dopant. Both polytypes have a room temperature resistivity of similar to 10m Omega cm, but with opposite signs for the temperature coefficient. The negative temperature coefficient for the 9R polytype is ascribed to localisation effects arising from the existence of two distinct crystallographic Ru sites. |
