Summary: | Studies to characterize the microstructure and mechanical properties of B4C particulate reinforced metal matrix composites using 7091 Al alloy matrix material are reported. Tensile and yield strength, and tensile modulus of the monolithic matrix alloy can be improved, but ductility and fracture toughness need to be improved through optimization of processing parameters.
