Impedance studies on the system LiClO4—MEEP

Results are presented on experimental impedance measurements of the polybis(methoxyethoxyethoxide) phosphazene (MEEP) plus LiClO4 system, carried out over a wide range of temperatures (-50 C to 80 C), MEEP/LiClO4 ratios, and frequencies (0.1 mHz to 65 kHz). Results indicate that there are two possib...

Description
Summary:Results are presented on experimental impedance measurements of the polybis(methoxyethoxyethoxide) phosphazene (MEEP) plus LiClO4 system, carried out over a wide range of temperatures (-50 C to 80 C), MEEP/LiClO4 ratios, and frequencies (0.1 mHz to 65 kHz). Results indicate that there are two possible conduction mechanisms, one involving a conduction path along the polymer chains, and the other involving conduction between the chains. Each conduction path can be simulated by a bulk resistance R in parallel with a dielectric capacitance C. Since these paths do not extend right across the electrolyte, these circuit elements act in series. (I.S.)
