Summary: | A non-linear stochastic model utilizing the Langmuir adsorption isotherm is developed to represent adsorption kinetics in batch adsorbers. The Markov process model equations that result are simpler to solve than deterministic model equations. Model parameters are developed for trichloroethylene adsorption from aqueous solutions on activated carbon for various adsorbent size and loading conditions. Model predictions are in good agreement with experimental data. |
