The optical properties of some borate glasses

Optical properties of K sub 2 O-B sub 2 O sub 3 and Na sub 2 O-B sub 2 O sub 3 glasses are presented. Position of absorption edge and value of optical gap depend on the semiconducting glass composition. Absorption may be associated with indirect transitions.
