Preparation of the YBa sub 2 Cu sub 3 O sub 7--x Powders by Emulsion Drying Method
The superconducting powders of YBa sub 2 Cu sub 3 O sub 7--x were easily prepared from water-in oil type emulsion by loading the yttrium, Ba, and Cu ions into the aqueous phase. The superconducting orthorhombic phase was formed by calcining at 750 deg C for 10 h in O sub 2 . The size of the supercon...

Summary: | The superconducting powders of YBa sub 2 Cu sub 3 O sub 7--x were easily prepared from water-in oil type emulsion by loading the yttrium, Ba, and Cu ions into the aqueous phase. The superconducting orthorhombic phase was formed by calcining at 750 deg C for 10 h in O sub 2 . The size of the superconducting phase powder was submicron. The density of the sintered specimen using this powder was approx 95% of the theoretical density and the resistance sharply decreases at transition temperature.
