Summary: | Previously abstracted from original as item 9204-31-1525. The nature of the temperature dependence of the breaking stress of body-centered metals in the region of brittle failure is considered. The model suggested considers the effect of the local plastic deformation in the crack apex on the transition to brittle failure. This model provides an analytical expression for the temperature dependence of the breaking stress in materials with initial crack or notch. Alloys Fe--3Si and molybdenum alloy TsM6 were studied. |
