Description
Summary:The effect of deformation on the structure and electrical properties of superconductive YBa 2Cu 3O 7−δ coatings deposited on a stainless steel tape by plasma or flame spraying was studied. A cold rolling of the coatings deposited on stainless steel substrates with a total draft ε ∑ ⩾ 25% was found to result in degradation of superconducting properties, which then could not be restored by annealing. A stagewise deposition of such a coating with an intermediate rolling, followed by annealing, makes it possible to increase the density of the coating, its stability against external actions, the flexibility of tapes with the coating and the critical current density, and as a whole to control the value of the possible total draft without loss of the high temperature superconductivity.
