Summary: | Recently Cutter and Oatts (1987) described a method which is sensitive enough to determine trace amounts of sulphide in surface seawater. The analytical procedure used by Cutter and Oatts does not reveal the equilibrium form of sulphide. The authors carried out a series of calculations to demonstrate how important it is for the estimation of the sulphide speciation that the concentrations of the sulphide complexing trace metals are known. |
