Description
Summary:The influence of cold forming on the rate of work hardening, on the deformation mechanism, and on the nucleation and propagation of cracks was studied using rhenium bars produced from rhenium metal powder by pressing, presintering and sintering followed by cold rolling with 10–13% reduction between intermediate annealings to the starting thicknesses of about 2·5 and 0·5 mm. On the annealed starting materials (sheet bars) plastic deformation in the interval 5–50% was performed by cold rolling. For evaluation of the results microhardness testing and microstructure investigations were made.
